Sydney Pygmy Pipehorse (Idiotropiscis lumnitzeri)

Discovered in Sydney Harbour in 1997, this tiny little fish was brought to the Australian Museum by Akos Lumnitzer for identification and was thought to have only lived in the harbour. It has since been found all the way south to Jervis Bay, and is a testament of how important it is to look after our natural habitat.

In front of the artwork and along the shore are multitudes of oyster reef beds, which make it rather tricky to traverse from the Drummoyne Swimming Centre.
